Earlier this year we studied the industrial revolution. It was difficult at that time to see the effects of this new age of mechanization. In 1914 this all changed when the major powers of the world went to war. Each country unleashed its collection of industrial technology on the other. WWI became the laboratory for testing the latest inventions effectiveness, altering, testing, altering, and testing again until the most effective killing machine was created. Today we will examine these technologies, their effectiveness, and the psychological impact inflicted by its use upon the enemy.
